I purchased a fabric couch from Nick Scali in early/mid-2022 (invoice copy attached).

My teenage daughter had an accident on my couch on Friday evening 10 May (photo attached). The blood stain is the result of her period leaking.

I haven't done anything with it yet – I didn’t want to risk making it worse.

I contacted Jae’s in Hamilton to help removing the blood stain, but they told me their system is outside the cleaning instructions … and I didn’t want to risk making things worse so I went back to Nick Scali and they suggested you might be able to help.

I did get a fabric upholstery care kit from Nick Scali when I purchased the couch – I haven't used it because I honestly thought Jae’s would be better because removing stains is what they do for a living (so it would be less risk of me getting it wrong and making things worse).

Seeing Jae’s cannot help, I’m reaching out to your team for advice on what I should do … to hopefully avoid the need to replace the couch, which to be honest feels ‘nuts’ for the sake of an accident (I see the invoice has a 5 year accidental damage warranty). I just want to know I’m doing the best I can to remove the blood – i.e. do I remove the blood that has now dried (21 days old now) with the fabric cleaning fluid first and then try the strong stain removal fluid if that doesn’t work … or start with the strong stain removal fluid? And will either do the job properly in the first place, seeing it is 21 days later? if you can help, that would be great.

Thank you
Brydon
